The guidelines for bilateral Workshops funded within the SGC Mobility Programme are given as follows:
For participants:
· Only bilateral (i.e., China and Germany) workshops can be funded through the Mobility Programme. For each workshop a maximum of 25 participants from the hosting side, 15 from the travelling side and 3from third countries are allowed.
· The attendance of Scientists who are not members of either team may be funded through the Mobility grant, if the number of external scientists does not make up more than 1/3 of the travelling and 1/3 of the hosting side.
· All PhD students who are Team Members may attend (Note: Please send the SGC an updated list of your Team Members (highlighting the new members) and short CVs of the new team members as well as a brief description of their role/tasks within the Mobility Project to the SGC before the workshop takes place. The respective form can be found as in Attachment 1.
For costs rates and arrangements:
· Costs for international air fare (economy class) including visa fees are capped at 1,700 EUR and 12,000 RMB per person, respectively.
· The travelling side covers the costs of their international travels.
· The hosting side covers meals, accommodation and domestic travel costs for all participants.
· The hosting side covers the air fare of the international participants from third countries.
· For accommodation rates and meal expenses, please consult the funding table as in Attachment 2. In rare cases when it is impossible to book accommodations with the listed rates, the national standards for the host side should apply.
For the organizers:
· All participants funded by the SGC are required to make a contribution in the form of a scientific presentation.
· Catering (lunch and coffee breaks) for (early career) researchers from local institutes who attend the meeting without giving a talk can be funded, provided that they have registered and signed the attendance list for that day.
· Please ensure that the ratio of male and female participants in the workshop is as balanced as possible.
· Please write a short report (in English, optionally containing 2-3 photographs) within two weeks after the workshop for publication on the SGC’s website.
· One-day scientific excursions and lab visits can be funded within the framework of a Mobility Workshop
